Partnership Modeling Capability

In modeling partnership structures for renewable energy projects, see Project Flip Partnerships, Mr. Cozart currently utilizes software developed by Advantage for Analysts® Inc. (“Advantage”).

Tax equity investors in special allocation partnerships face increasing complexity as the market introduces innovations in these financing structures. Complexity raises questions about the integrity of deal models and also heightens exposure to tax and other risks.

Advantage's Partnership Solution Set offers interested parties in deal financings (e.g., investors, manufacturers, advisors and developers) a means to quickly and reliably structure and analyze renewable energy deals, as well as to track transactions after they close. The Solution Set embodies years of practical experience in structuring special allocation partnerships.

Advantage is a financial structuring and analysis firm located in San Francisco that provides solutions for Fixed Income Asset Management and Renewable Energy Partnership Structuring. Babcock & Brown originally developed the Advantage software to support its private equity and investment advisory business. Advantage became an independent entity in 2004. See http://www.advantageforanalysts.com.

As many diverse issues arise, Mr. Cozart typically must supplement Advantage’s Solution Set for particular structures and transactions. Software solutions provided by other companies may also be more suited to the client’s needs, particularly software that is built on more widely used platforms. Mr. Cozart is not a partner of Advantage and his relationship with Advantage is not exclusive.
